PiedSearch - Find and replace with minimal effort!
PiedSearch is a user-friendly utility that will help any programmer, website developer, sysadmin, or anyone maintaining a number of text files. It lets you search through large bodies of text files that match your wildcards. Then you can preview each instance in context to assess its relevance and if needed select it to replace it with a new value. It's never been so fast or so easy!

- Fixed the bug that the app could not be closed from the taskbar item.
- Stopped the line number being included when doing ctrl-C to copy the line to the clipboard.
- Debugged the line count in the line about the preview - it was being cleared when the form was resized and being left when there was an empty search.
- Fixed the bug that the 2nd to last line was receiving underlining meant for the last line in the preview and results.
- Added option in the Edit menu to expand tabs in result and preview lines to any number of spaces (1-100). The default is to expand to 4 spaces.
- Ctrl-C now copies the current line of results or preview to the clipboard.
- Taskbar button now adds 'running' when a search is running, and the window title shows the target of the latest search.
- Escape key now closes About and Register dialogs.
- Fixed bug in positioning of text in right-most statusbar element.
- Added number of lines in file to Preview heading.
- Debugged the problem that multiple occurrences of the target in the exclude string would mean the find would be admitted, not excluded.
- Improved the selected colour of the extra detail shown against the file name for non-default sorts.
- Moved separator in View menu to before “Sort descending”.
- Fixed bug affecting check for update, now that the date of the version is shown on website.
- Fixed a bug causing too many lines in the preview for unix-type files.
- Stopped horizontal scroll bar appearing in preview.
- Added the search-based statistics already in the status bar to the report.
- Cleaned up sort after search. Now always reverting to default.
- Added break in View menu to separate sorts.
- Added colour-coding for the text displayed with filenames for non-default sorting.
- The Help menu now includes an item to check for updates.
- The main row of buttons now show captions. I removed a couple of buttons to make it fit more neatly. And there is an item in the View menu to hide and show the captions.
- The word “Preview” had been removed from the caption above the preview window, and the file name is now bold, echoing the file names in the result window.
- The preview window now has the same menu as the results list. Also, selected finds now show up red in the preview window, and you can select find by double clicking on them in the preview window.
- Some debugging of the preview window has been done. There are fewer situations where it displays extra lines.
